Property Access

You will be sent an SMS with information on how to access your accommodation once the property is ready for check in. We ask that you do not go to the property before you receive your check in notification.

Important Information About Your Property

We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful rural property. Please keep in mind that you will need a high vehicle to reach this property. If you encounter any difficulties locating your accommodation, please use the following detailed directions and accompanying photos as a guide:


  1. Starting Point: Carinya Lane
    Begin your journey by turning off The Snowy River Way onto Carinya Lane.
  2. Approaching the Gravel Roads
    Turn left when you see a wheel with the numbers 63 and 65 turn similar to image #2 below.
  3. Follow the Gravel Road
    Follow the road until you reach a gate that says “Oakvale”. PLEASE NOTE: This gate will always be shut and needs to be shut upon entrance and exit due to livestock in the neighboring properties.
  4. Look for the Rusted Sign Post
    Continue on this road until you see a rusted sign post with “63” on it. Turn left and continue down the road.
  5. Follow the Ram’s Skull
    You will see the house, there will be a ram’s skull mounted on a post with an arrow pointing to the left and marked “63a”. Take the grass path to the left side, and follow until you reach your accommodation. PLEASE NOTE: The right side of the house is privately rented/occupied.

Sometimes this door can be a little tricky when locking and unlocking.

To unlock: press the circle button at the top of the key pad to illuminate the screen. Once you can see the blue numbers, enter the code then press # and the door will unlock. The door will automatically relock itself.


To lock: when leaving the property, ensure the latch on the inside is turned horizontal with the locking mechanism sticking out of the door as depicted below. Pull the door until the locking mechanism that is sticking out touches the door frame. From the outside put the code in and the locking mechanism will go in, as it unlocks, allowing you to close the door fully. Hold the door in the closed position for 10-15seconds and the door will automatically lock. You will know this has worked as the keypad will say ‘locked’.


During Your Stay

    • No ski or snowboard boots to be worn inside the property.

Before You Leave

    • Dirty dishes are to be washed and put away, or placed in the dishwasher and turned on.

    • Furniture is to be returned to its original position.

    • Fireplace is emptied of all ash.

    • Coffee machine cleaned.

    • All rubbish and recycling placed in the outside bins.

    • All lights and heating turned off.

Excess charges will be applied if the above is not followed.

We want your stay to be as comfortable as possible, regardless of the weather outside. Below is a brief overview of the heating and cooling options available in your accommodation:


    • Wood fire place in main living area: Firewood supplied
    • Wall heaters in kitchen
    • Wall heaters in living area
    • Wall heaters in bedroom

There’s nothing quite like cozying up by a crackling fireplace after a day of exploring the Snowy Mountains. If you wish to use the fireplace during your stay, please follow the simple guide below to safely enjoy a fire without smoke.



Step 1: Stack Kindling

    • Take eight to ten pieces of kindling and stack them in a crosshatch style arrangement. (Place two pieces on the base of the fire vertically, and then stack two pieces on top of those horizontally. Repeat once more.

    • Place firelighters amongst the kindling and light. Wait for the kindling to become well lit.


Step 2: Add Firewood

    • Once the burning kindling settles, place a few pieces of smaller firewood onto the kindling, being sure to allow space between pieces so that air can circulate.

    • Once these smaller pieces of firewood settle and are burning hot, add larger logs on top. Again, be sure to allow good airflow between each log to prevent smouldering and excess smoke.

To keep your equipment safe during your stay, your accommodation offers convenient on-site bike and ski/board storage facilities.


You can store these on the outside patio by the games room. Please note this area is not lockable.

It is common for properties in the area to use gas tanks for heating and/or cooking. From time to time, one tank may empty during your stay and you will need switch the connection to the other tank. This is a simple and quick process, please watch this video for step-by-step instructions.


Gas Tank Location: There are two connected gas bottles located to the left of the back patio.


If you have switched the connection on the gas tanks during your stay, you must inform Henley Holidays during business hours.

General waste bins are located outside of the house. A contractor will attend the outside of the property once a week to remove the bins for collection.

If you are experiencing a power outage in the kitchen, please check the fuse box under the sink in case a fuse has tripped. For power outages anywhere else in the property, please contact the office directly on the number below, or the emergency contact number if after-hours.
