Skiing and Snowboarding

Thredbo has Australia’s longest runs and terrain to suit all levels! Beginners can enjoy the magic carpets and the gentle slope of Friday Flat to ease them into snow sports and gain confidence. Intermediates can enjoy the long, wide, tree-lined trails accessed by the quick chairlifts. Advanced skiers and snowboarders can enjoy the longest and most vertical terrain in the country as well as plenty of off-piste areas.

Snow Play Area

Thredbo snow play area is open daily for snow play and snowman building and is located near the Valley Terminal in the base area of the village.

 

Flare Runs and Fireworks

Flare runs for both adults and children are held weekly and can be both participated in or watched from the base of slopes or in the village. Please see the Thredbo staff for further information.

 

Ski Museum

The Thredbo ski museum showcases a comprehensive collection of winter sports memorabilia taking you through history to show the progression in snow sports. The museum is open during July and August daily from 1.00pm – 5.00pm and weekends during June and September from 1.00pm – 5.00pm. Please note opening times may vary from time to time.

 

Back Country

With snow covered peaks in every direction the back country of the Snowy Mountains is always waiting to be explored. Amazing views, untouched snow and plenty of terrain awaits. Alpine touring skis and skins are available from Thredbo Sports Valley Terminal.

 

Snow Shoeing

Take a walk across the snow and enjoy the interesting features and landmarks of the Snowy Mountains. If you are feeling fit you can also trek to the top of Mt Kosciusko. Guided snowshoeing with rental and back country ski passes available at the Thredbo Sports Valley Terminal Office.
