Mountain Biking

Enjoy world class mountain bike and shared trails with hundreds of kilometres of mapped trails ready to discover. Try the amazing Thredbo Valley Track that winds from Thredbo Village to Lake Crackenback Resort. Thredbo also offers a wide range of down hill tracks for all ages and experience levels. The Jindabyne Community trails span from Tyrolean Village along the Lakes edge, past Jindabyne township, and then out to Trout Hatchery Bay.

Thredbo

Thredbo is the premiere downhill destination in Australia offering the new Kosciuszko Flow Trail, the Thredbo Valley Trail and epic backcountry riding.  Thredbo is constantly improving the downhill track and developing new challenges for riding enthusiasts.

Thredbo Valley Trail (TVT) : This is a moderate level trail, free to ride, offering an experience that incorporates suspension bridges that weave the rider from side to side along the Thredbo River.  While driving up and parking at Thredbo is an option, there is also a shuttle bus between Jindabyne and Thredbo that will allow riders to ride the 26km track on a downhill gradient.

Thredbo Downhill: Take this trail at your own pace as it is a moderate to difficult level trail.  Riders will need a lift pass, and prior to riding will need to undertake a Downhill Orientation Session.  If you have your own bike make sure to bring your safety gear too.  Bike and equipment hire available and it's definitely worth spending a full day. See Thredbo’s website for all their mountain biking maps.

Thredbo River Loop: This is a free and easy trail with the first four kilometers being pretty relaxed but an extra 2km black loop will challenge more experienced riders.

Tyrolean and Mill Creek Mountain Bike Trails: These trails are free and offer a great selection of green, blue and black loops.

Hatchery Bay Trail: This is a free trail starting at the boat ramp on the outskirts of Jindabyne.  Riders can follow the main road as if going up to Perisher Ski Resort. This is a great single track trail for all skill levels which winds its way around the lake to the Hatchery Bay. This trail offers an easy-going ride around the lake for beginners and for the more advanced riders there are the options to go onto the more technical lines that branch off from the main trail.
